The most popular shingle manufacturers provide standard roof warranties on their roofing products with upgraded roof warranties available for a reasonable fee. The roofing contractor should provide a workmanship roof warranty for a roof replacement.
A roofing warranty's length should not be the greatest concern in the selection of a roofing material or roof system because the roof material warranty does not necessarily provide assurance of a proper roof installation. The selection of a roof system application should be based on the roofing product's qualities and suitability for the specific project. A long-term roof warranty may be of little value to a homeowner if the roofing materials are not installled properly and the roof system does not perform satisfactorily. However a roofing warranty that is backed by a reliable roofing contractor and a trusted roofing product manufacturer is certainly an added value.
