Masters Roofing
My name is Rick Hinkle and the name of our company is Master’s Roofing and Construction Inc.
How long have you owned the Equipter? We’ve had the Equipter for 8 months now.
How well has it performed for your company? The Equipter has performed excellent for us. It operates well. It’s very versatile for us because we can use it in a diversified manner because we do residential roofing and we do commercial roofing as well. So from the residential we show up with the machine, the people like it. They look at that more than they look at us obviously cause of all the things that it does. We go around the house and we can take the debris away from the house and I have another truck that I dump it in or a trailer. But besides that it’s also a tool for us in our commercial roofing. We take the machine on the smaller jobs; we raise it up and use it as a small high lift truck.
So what has been the response of homeowners? Does it seem to impress them when you show up with the Equipter? Every time. It impresses them every time. They watch you when you’re raising it up, they watch you as your driving it around the house; and particularly when you’re transferring the debris from the Equipter into the dump truck or our trailer. It’s very eye catching.
Would you say that you get more jobs because of it?
I would say yes to that, as I think about that question we have many components to get jobs. We try to advertise well. I take them to our website which shows the Equipter in use or in our photo gallery it shows it along side our other equipment. I would say as a component it does help. It helps in a tremendous way.
Do you have any doubt as to whether the Equipter pays for itself?
I have no doubt. I have no doubt. We look at it from this stand point from our company. It’s a part of our marketing. People see it—it’s raised up, advertising. Second of all I would say that it pays for itself because it replaces an individual. In our set up- now I know not everybody is not the same—but in our set up we have a bigger dump truck. We minimize our staff cause you don’t wanna have people that you don’t need to have. With the economy you want to keep your business down to a work able, manageable, yeah efficient that’s the better word. What I do is I end up taking all the material and put it in the dump truck then I get rid of the dump truck early so it can go to the transfer station.
How long would you say that it takes for the Equipter to pay for itself?
How long until it will pay for itself? Um...i would say, I would say two years. Even though I’m physically paying for it for four years. That’s the agreement I have with the finance company. I would say within two years it pays for itself. Maybe even sooner. Maybe even sooner. Cause I’ve only had it for eight months. I didnt’ have it over the stretch of the summer. So I’m looking forward to that. Cause the machine is very eye catching. I can drive down the main broad street in town over from us and with my pick-up truck. Everybody notices. Everybody turns there head. I’m at a gas station gasing up everybody is looking and asking questions. What is this machine? What does it do? Then they see the name on the truck. It has to help. It has to help.
What is the response of your employee? They like it because they don’t have to do as much work. Ok! We did a job in December, I was able to squeeze in, barely on the side of the one house and it just fit. And I got in the back it made it so much easier. They love it, they love it for that reason and they wanna use it in every aspect. I can’t take it every place on the job but sometimes I can 100% around. But if I get it in 70% or even 50% it helps me get rid of debris and more time and time is money.
Do you have any regrets that you purchased the Equipter? None! No regrets at all.
How long have you had the Equipter and how well has it held up for you?
I’ve had the Equipter for eight months now and it’s held up well. With the hydraulics I have to start it up when it’s cold and let it run for 2 min. then it works fantastic. I have no complaints with it and it works well.
So from your perspective what is the quality of the Equipter? High quality! High quality! I’m not a designer and I think its fantastic how this thing was designed. You look at the overall and I have no complaints. Nothing.
Would you recommend any changes? At this point no; right now I haven’t come up with any but I’m always thinking about it because the company has said to me if you can think of something or what ever would make to work a little bit more efficiently let us know- so the company has been very open to that type of change
Thank you for your time Richard. Ok- Thank you. Appreciate it!
